Hi everyone,

We hear you! We hear you!

We at Agilent strive to give our customers the best possible and we believe in many ways the forum will benefit everyone in the long run. Here's some quick benefits:

1. Forum posts are easier to track down and read (same topic arranged within same thread)

2. Searching vrf archives gets easier with Search function in the forum

3. One signup provides you direct access to a host of other Agilent instrument forums that may be of interest to you (https://forums.tm.agilent.com/community/index.php)

4. RSS feed provides you with direct notification of new posts in the forum

5. On top of the RSS Feed, you can also choose to 'Subscribe Forum' which will ensure you are notified by email on the latest post in the forum, or choose to 'Subscribe Topic' to receive email notification on the Topics (threads) that specifically interest you only.

6. You can avoid the hassle of logging in (typing username and password) simply by setting the 'Log me on automatically each visit'.

7. Keeps stringent email servers at bay (some company email servers reject emails or filter off attachments in mailing lists). We received complaints from users that vrf emails have lost attachments.

We did evaluate using mail2forum <http://mail2forum.com/> , but phpbb version 3 does not support this cool application to allow communication between mailing lists and forums. Good news is, v2.0 <http://mail2forum.com/v20-development/> is under development right now.

As for the issue with the hard-to-read confirmation code, we have reported this to the admin to look into.

However, having said that, we do TRULY understand your valid concerns and the sheer heritage of this very unique mailing list, hence we will KEEP THE vrf MAILING LIST GOING indefinitely while we find a better solution that works best for all. Just as how Shawn puts it: "working together (all of us) I'm sure we can come up with something that everyone will be happy with in the next few months."

In the meantime, do keep your ideas / comments / rants rolling in!

Thanks for all your valuable feedback and support!

Cheers,
Edwin Hoh
