TO INSTALL VEE:

  VEE requires about 12 MB
the drivers require about 23 MB additional

(1) copy these files to a temporary directory on your PC.

(2) execute each one. This will create oodles of files.

(3) exit to DOS and execute setup.exe

this will ask you for a directory in which to install VEE
and a default directory for your user files. During the process
it will ask you to insert more disks- simply press ENTER since
all the data is already in your temp directory.

(4) When done it will ask if you want to load drivers. If you have the
room you probably want them all.

This directory contains binary files for VEE for Windows:

   vw_31_1.exe VEE 3.1 disk 1 archive.
   vw_31_2.exe VEE 3.1 disk 2 archive.
   vw_31_3.exe VEE 3.1 disk 3 archive.
   vw_31_4.exe VEE 3.1 disk 4 archive.

   vwd31_1.exe VEE 3.1 drivers disk 1 archive.
   vwd31_2.exe VEE 3.1 drivers disk 2 archive.
   vwd31_3.exe VEE 3.1 drivers disk 3 archive.
   vwd31_4.exe VEE 3.1 drivers disk 4 archive.
   vwd31_5.exe VEE 3.1 drivers disk 5 archive.
   vwd31_6.exe VEE 3.1 drivers disk 6 archive.

   vwr31_1.exe VEE 3.1 runonly disk 1 archive.
   vwr31_2.exe VEE 3.1 runonly disk 2 archive.
   vwr31_3.exe VEE 3.1 runonly disk 3 archive.

vbfilter.exe Filter to convert Bus I/O Monitor output into tidy form.
peekpoke.com PEEKPOKE library for VEE for Windows (unsupported).

Except for "vbfilter.exe", these are all DOS-based self-extracting archives.
Copy each to a directory on your PC using a binary transfer, run the archive
name at the DOS prompt to extract them, and copy the files that pop out to a
floppy. (Mind you don't copy the archive as well, since the disk will run out
of space.)

Note that since the VEE floppies no longer contain subdirectories, you don't
have to use the old clumsy INS_FLOP installation file any more. Just copy
the files to the floppies ... or, if you want to do uncompress and install
at the same time, just change directories to the floppy drive, say:

   A:

-- and from that place execute the archive using the full pathname, say:

   c:\tmp\vw_31_1

The archive will uncompress into the floppy ... no muss or fuss.
